Quicklight helps Screwfix stay on top of lighting maintenance

Screwfix is the UK's largest multi-channel supplier of trade tools, plumbing, electrical supplies, bathrooms and kitchens. The company despatches tens of thousands of parcels every week for next-day and weekend delivery to tradesmen, handymen and serious DIY enthusiasts. It has 250 branches nationwide, from Inverness in Scotland to Redruth in Cornwall.

Through its maintenance service provider, Screwfix has been using Quicklight for lighting maintenance and electrical testing services across all of its UK stores for a couple of years. Before this, Screwfix’s maintenance service provider employed a number of regional contractors, which made it hard to form close working relationships.

Staying legal and safe

Screwfix takes employee safety very seriously and understands it has a legal obligation to comply with electrical regulations. Quicklight provides Screwfix with a proactive maintenance programme for annual PAT and fixed-wire testing. The process enables Screwfix to budget for and plan any remedial works during the year and helps keep its employees safe.

As Quicklight can service all our stores nationally, we now only have one point of contact, which is much better for communication and continuity of service. Their lighting maintenance service represents good value for money. They have their own lifting equipment, which has meant we no longer need to hire high-level access equipment to reach broken lamps or fixings. They visit our sites every eight weeks and if nothing needs fixing we don’t pay anything.
